We are seeking a talented Experiential Designer to join our team! This position can be located in the Nashville or Tampa offices. Hybrid work option with three days in the office.

The Gresham Smith Experiential Design and Wayfinding team is searching for a new team member to join our practice. We believe that every project involving people and space poses an opportunity for connection-and it's our job to design compelling experiences that tell our clients' stories. Our ideal candidate is an individual with 0-3 years of experience in graphic design and possesses a passion for using visual tools to communicate a story. This individual is not intimidated by creative or abstract problems, but embraces the idea that the best solution to a design challenge just may be something that has not been done before.

This candidate should possess exceptional attention to detail and have a passion for design, and should be prepared to work in an office with a casual corporate culture and a collaborative team approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Experiential Design and Wayfinding team to develop design solutions (including but not limited to graphic, 3-dimensional, and interactive elements) to create compelling experiences based on each client's objectives and priorities.
  • Illustrate design ideas, detail studies, and visualizations that effectively communicate the project concepts through hand sketching, photo rendering, 3D modeling, etc.
  • Generate production artwork that is drawn to scale.
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team of architects, and designers to ideate and articulate concepts as part of a collaborative design process.
  • Manage own time to complete assigned tasks.
  • Participate in internal design sessions and critiques as well client reviews and work sessions.
  • Follow projects through construction to completion.
  • Travel as needed for onsite meetings and or client presentations.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree Education in Fine Arts, Visual Communication, Industrial Design, Graphic Design or other related arts field.
    • 0-3 years of job-related design experience or relevant student internship.
    • Excellent skills in Adobe Illustrator.
    • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
    • Demonstrated experience using the Microsoft Suite.
    • Additional knowledge of Revit and SketchUp software is a plus.
    • Strong visual sense and understanding of typography, composition, and color.
    • Strong communication, presentation and organizational skills.
    • Highly motivated, proactive, self-starter who has a passion for design within the built environment.
